My grandmama found all of my great grandmother's quilt tops yesterday. She stacked up 4 big boxes, put them in my backseat and seriously had a tear in her eye- she was so happy "that someone has an interest in them".
Are you kidding me?!
My great Granny + me + sewing = LOVE
Hello, Poppy quilt.
They pretty much all have this satin fabric on them which sorta crushes my dreams of having one long-arm quilted immediately (instant gratification, anyone?) but I am absolutely in love with this one:
Hello, Poppy quilt. I would like to finish you quickly with a modern-ish backing and pretty blue binding.
Any ideas on a fabric for the back? I need major help because, as I mentioned before, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

yeah the only suggestion I can make without going to a craft store is use the same blue in the poppy. That is such a great color. I would find a pattern with the same blue but uber modern. Not florals.
I just saw another quilt earlier today made with silks and satins! She talked about how slippery it was working with these fabrics and how she finally was able to handle the sandwich was by spray-basting heavily. Just something for you to think about when you get around to quilting this lovely, lovely top. Lucky girl!
Thanks, Angie- that makes sense!
