Photographic proof that I haven't just bailed on this blog and I have actually been productive

I'm so lame. I've been sewing like (in the words of one of my 1st grade choir kids) a "really old lady". (Apparently, only really old ladies sew- did you know that?)
I made 2 skirts (using Char @ Crap I've Made's tutorial here) and a pillow case dress for the Bryant girls. Here's one of the girls' skirt:

Then I used Dana's tutorial over on MADE to do a freezer-paper-stencil shirt for Noah to wear this week:

THEN I made 4 more bowties for my cousins and uncle to wear on Easter and then (FINALLY!) I started working on our Easter outfits. I am so stoked with how these turned out, as they are my first (and second) time ever sewing using a pattern (dress pattern is from Sew Liberated and the jon-jon pattern is from baby kay's). I usually use tutorials, because they're easy and have a ton of pictures so if I mess up, I know where I did it- but both of these patterns were great- and had pictures! (FYI- Joe will be wearing a khakis and a white shirt with a bowtie to match Noah's outfit.... I'm a mean wife/mom).

... and now I'm addicted to sewing.

Seriously, I have a oddly disproportionate body (large top, chicken legs) and NOTHING ever fits me. I was so pumped while making my dress when I realized "Dur- I can make the bust area 2 sizes larger than the rest!" AND IT FITS ME! EEEE! (I think I seriously made that noise.) I think I'm hooked on sewing for me. Not everything, obviously, but specific pieces I can't find- I will (attempt to) make. I'm also taking sewing classes now that I upgraded my embroidery machine to an embroidery/sewing combo so that helps a TON.

I have also half-convinced myself I could make a quilt. *faints*

In other news, I have lost 19 lbs since joining Weight Watchers in January, Noah is due to be baptized on Mother's Day and my house is a stinkin' wreck. Keepin' it real, folks.

Congrats on the weight loss! That is awesome and you look great!

I have been considering joining WW too--do you go to meetings, or do it online?

I go to meetings Meredith and let me say- I don't hink I could do it just online. There's something to be said about having all those people with you with the same goal and tips on how to reach them! I love going! AND I was nervoud that they would weigh me in front of everyone, but they don't (I know that's dumb, but it's a misconception I had about WW).
